The latest powerful and quiet Kairos Core mainframes demonstrated with SDI I/O Boards enabling 48 Input/Output alongside new firmware functionality.
Bracknell, UK. 30th January 2024 – Panasonic Connect Europe today announced a number of powerful enhancements for its KAIROS state-of-the-art live production platform, which is on show at ISE 2024, in Barcelona, Spain. Building on the system’s flexibility, SDI I/O Boards (AT-KC20M1) have been introduced for the three latest Kairos Core mainframes, the AT-KC200 and AT-KC2000/KC2000S1. With the possibility to add up to 4x AT-KC20M1[1] units to each Kairos Core, these high performing and reliable SDI I/O Boards increase capacity offering a maximum of 48 Input/Output (32 in x 16 out) with 3G SDI & 4 boards, supporting larger and more complex productions than ever before.
In addition, new firmware (V1.6) for KAIROS, available in Q1 of CY2024, will continue to deliver enhanced functionality. It brings new filters for enhanced creativity, including colour correction. Independent user management features will be introduced. In addition, there will be a new Still Image Store with playlist and transition functionality for simpler and faster production. New optional software for Kairos Core Manager (AT-SFCM10) will also be unlocked to provide users with Core back-up system, media restore and synchronization. 16:10 native resolution in ST 2110, which will be supported in the future, will also be exhibited at ISE.
Two of the three new Kairos Core mainframes announced in 2023, the AT-KC200 and AT-KC2000, will be available to see in action for the first time at the Panasonic stand at ISE 2024. The new 4RU chassis for both models features high airflow at lower fan speeds, significantly reducing noise and allowing the platform to be placed directly next to the action.
The KAIROS platform natively supports the transition to IP workflows with simultaneous SDI, ST 2110, and streaming support. ST 2110 support streamlines the connection to Panasonic’s latest ST 2110 compatible cameras, the AW-UE160 PTZ and the AK-PLV100GJ PL studio camera, perfect for multicamera productions.
Ideal for productions ranging from broadcast studios to remote production and streaming of live sports and concert events, KAIROS virtualizes traditional switcher functions eliminating many legacy switcher hardware constraints with innovative CPU/GPU architecture and utilizes a multi-format Agile I/O feature to remove the one-to-one input constraints of SDI only switchers.
“After revolutionizing live production with the introduction of KAIROS, we continue to add important new capabilities and functionality for our broadcast and media users, as well as the rental and staging market that make the platform the de facto standard,” said Andre Meterian, Director of Professional Video Systems for Panasonic Connect Europe. “KAIROS is the ideal solution for those looking to move to a next-generation IT/IP centric platform for unlimited production creativity, regardless of format or content destination.”
