Augmented data fabric specialist Stratio BD launches in France as part of global expansion plans

The launch in Paris is the first location to officially open following completion of a EUR 65 million Series C round led by InfraVia Capital Partner late last year, coming ahead of UK expansion this spring.

Leading data fabric provider Stratio BD has launched in France as part of ambitious new growth plans to roll out regional operations across Europe and North America over the next few years.

The company’s Paris location is the first to be unveiled following completion of its EUR 65 million Series C round late last year, which is being used to fund the company’s expansion and establish more physical offices outside of Spain and Latin America.

The plans were unveiled following a strong 40 per cent growth achieved last year, with regional teams now being introduced to bring the company’s data virtualisation, data governance, and AI solutions and services closer to new and prospective clients. Stratio BD also has plans to expand in North America, Asia, and the Middle East further down the line.

The regional team is being led by Pierre Mossard, General Manager – France and Southern Europe, who will manage operations across the region, nurture the team’s growth and development, and facilitate its customer base from the ground up across France as well as Italy and Switzerland.

Pierre brings solid experience to the role, having worked for tech companies such as Alteryx, often placing him at the forefront of periods of great disruption and innovation in the tech industry.

Madrid, Spain-based Stratio BD, which was launched in 2014 by entrepreneurs Óscar Méndez Soto and Ernesto Funes, is universally recognised by analysts including Gartner and Forrester as an international leader in data fabric. With over 500 employees, the company boasts a rich plethora of major corporate clients including Santander, Barclays, P&G, BBVA, and Carrefour.

Stratio BD’s Augmented Data Fabric product is billed as one of the first on the market to be entirely based on high-speed distributed technology. It provides businesses with a composable data management solution, enabling governance, virtualisation, and machine learning to multiply productivity of the companies that use it, reducing costs and time to a fraction of what they used to need.

Earlier this year, Stratio BD made a key hire when it appointed its first-ever Global Chief Marketing Officer, Alexandra Stefanovich, who is using her role to position Statio BD as the global leader in the data fabric space while growing the company’s reach and customer base internationally.

Pierre Mossard, General Manager – France and Southern Europe, said: “I am excited to be bringing my extensive experience via Stratio BD’s unique value proposition to benefit enterprise and mid-level sized companies. Our regional team of pre-sales, engineers, and commercial staff is ready to provide an even more tailored, regionalised service to help organisations across the banking, insurance, retail, healthcare, public, and manufacturing sectors become more data driven so that they can fulfil their data potential while meeting the unique demands of each market. More specifically, our product is helping these companies bridge the gap around actionable data governance and make better, more informed decisions, helping them become more data driven.”

Romain Favrelle, Director at InfraVia, said: “France has been a key country in the expansion plan for Stratio BD from the start and we are therefore very excited to announce this launch, having worked alongside Oscar, Ernesto, and Pierre for the past six months. With many enterprises confronted with data governance and quality issues at scale, specifically in verticals where Stratio has a proven track record of delivering business-transforming initiatives, we believe that the market is now at the right maturity to understand and embrace the benefits of the data fabric concept. We are also convinced that Stratio BD’s outstanding product and the ability to deliver value in any data-related project quickly, will be much appreciated by the local customers.”

Óscar Méndez Soto, CEO and Co-Founder of Stratio BD, added: “Stratio BD’s roll out in France, which comes ahead of our UK launch later this spring, is the beginning of an exciting new chapter of expansion. Enterprise-level companies around the globe are quickly waking up to the importance and need for all-encompassing data fabric solutions to help them accelerate their business cases, which our product can do four times faster than a team of data analysts. Our core mission is to democratise the data space via AI and automation, accelerated on the public cloud, allowing companies to re-align and save on critical resources and time.”
