Coming up to Black Friday weekend on the 25th November, Brits will be looking to snag a bargain for Christmas. Online casino experts Slotsia have looked at search trends for the big three consoles over the last week and can reveal that the Nintendo Switch console is set to be the most popular purchase.
It was recently revealed that Sony’s PlayStation 5 has become the bestselling console in the UK, overtaking the Nintendo Switch due to an increase in the availability of the console. However, search data from Google Trends reveals that the searches for ‘Nintendo Switch’ are a whopping 244% higher than searches for ‘PlayStation 5’ and 132% higher than searches for Xbox Series X.
Microsoft’s Xbox Series X came in third with sales of the console remaining steady, but the search data puts it squarely in second place, with searches 48% higher than its long-time rival PlayStation.
A spokesperson for Slotsia commented on the findings:
“Black Friday is one of the most profitable times of the year for console manufacturers. With new game releases this month, we will see if these trends continue and translate into sales ahead of the holiday season. To see the Nintendo Switch retaining its popularity despite being five years old is impressive and it will be interesting to see if this trend continues or if Sony or Microsoft can overtake Nintendo.”
