engo3 Cyclist: The brand new AR glasses designed for cyclists

After winning over runners, ENGO, a specialist in connected augmented reality sports eyewear, is hitting the road with the launch of engo3 Cyclist. These new AR glasses are designed specifically to meet the needs of road and gravel cyclists. Moving beyond the running track and trails, ENGO is bringing performance to the peloton, mountain trails, and long weekend rides.

Key features include:

  • Radar mode
  • Cycling-specific eyewear design
  • Dedicated display: Power zone, Heart rate zone, estimated Watts
  • Synchronisation with Garmin

Cycling has its own set of rules. Riding in a pack, tracking power output, keeping an eye on the road and vehicles behind you, cyclists have different needs than runners. ENGO addresses these specific demands with the engo3 Cyclist, a new pair of smart glasses featuring a wider frame designed for aerodynamics and stability while riding. They display metrics tailored to cyclists and include a unique feature: a radar system integrated directly into the field of view.

All your data, without looking up

engo3 Cyclist displays real-time power zones using the same colour-coding (red, yellow, green) found on professional cyclists’ dashboards. You can monitor your effort continuously without taking your eyes off the road or losing the wheel of the group ahead. The device also features a suite of cycling-specific widgets such as power zone tracking and overtaking vehicle alerts (via Varia Radar integration) designed to meet the unique demands of riding in a peloton, tackling mountain passes, or going on long-distance rides. It also includes the brand’s signature features: over 40 data points displayed directly in your field of view including the highly useful power zone and overtaking radar widgets plus synchronisation with Garmin, live structured workout tracking with Garmin, customisable screens via the companion app, and simple double-tap controls to switch screens mid-ride. It’s the perfect way to boost performance while staying focused.

Keep your eyes on the road. Safety comes before performance.

Cycling on the road exposes you to a risk that every cyclist knows: the car approaching from behind, unseen until the last moment. But this risk does not only apply to Sunday group rides. The vast majority of roads used by cyclists do not have a dedicated cycle lane: whether riding solo on a Tuesday evening or in a group on the weekend cyclists ride on the road, in the middle of traffic,. On open roads, during a fast descent or on a false flat where attention is relaxed, a cyclist cannot turn his head every thirty seconds to check what is coming behind him, nor can he rely solely on hearing when the wind or the noise of the group drowns out the sound of an engine.

Is a vehicle approaching? At what distance and speed? With engo3 Cyclist, the answer is displayed directly in the field of view. The glasses integrate natively with the Garmin Varia* radar: as soon as a vehicle approaches, the alert appears in context: the faster the vehicle is moving, the sooner the display appears. Your eyes remain fixed on the road ahead.

A frame designed for the road

Unlike running glasses, which have different dimensions (137mm W x 58mm H, compared to 140mm W x 60mm H for the engo3 Cyclist), the new engo 3 Cyclist model features a wider geometry modeled on cycling standards: full wind protection, stability whether riding on the hoods or in the drops, and no movement during sprints or descents. Naturally, the temples are designed to fit comfortably under a cycling helmet. Enjoy comfort on multi-hour rides, available in all the colours of the engo3 range.

Éric Marcellin-Dibon, co-founder of ENGO: “Cycling and running are very different experiences. Cyclists ride in groups, navigate traffic, and sustain efforts that last for hours. The engo3 Cyclist was designed with this specific activity in mind, prioritising a non-negotiable factor: safety. Having radar data in your field of view is literally like having eyes in the back of your head, it allows you to optimise your performance safely and without interruption.”
